What is EPIC?
Throughout the Gospels Jesus consistently invites people to, “Follow me.” At River Oak Grace we want to have an intentional focus on the spiritual pathways that form significant disciples of Jesus Christ. This is not just the transmission of information for one to understand Matthew 28:19 in their mind, but the transformation of hearts that produces a testimony of one that follows Jesus. We want to help people see marked evidence of steps that lead toward the heart of God, while seeing lives of others drawn toward Jesus Christ. We believe our Epic Ministries will help guide the hearts of men, women, students, and children toward becoming deeper disciples through Christ and His Word.

Epic men - “real men”
In this study, we will dive into a video series that highlights men in the Bible who were imperfect, vulnerable, and deeply human—men who struggled with fear, doubt, pride, temptation, and failure—yet, despite their shortcomings, remained faithful to God. Through extended storytelling, careful biblical study, and meaningful application, we’ll examine how their weaknesses did not disqualify them from God’s purposes but often became the very contexts in which God’s grace, power, and faithfulness were most clearly displayed.
Join us for Flawed but Faithful as we walk through the lives of well-known and lesser-known biblical figures, discovering the patterns of failure and redemption that run throughout their stories.
Whether you are wrestling with the aftermath of past mistakes, feeling inadequate for the tasks before you, or simply seeking a deeper understanding of how faith is lived out in real life, this study will equip and encourage you.
Come prepared to confront hard truths, celebrate God’s redemptive work, and be challenged to trust God anew. Flawed but Faithful invites you to see your flaws not as the end of the story but as opportunities for God’s faithfulness to shine through—transforming failure into growth, weakness into dependence, and brokenness into testimony.

Epic WOMEN - “WOMEN OF THE WORD”
We all know it’s important to study God’s word. But sometimes it’s hard to know where to start. What’s more, a lack of time, emotionally driven approaches, and past frustrations can erode our resolve to keep growing in our knowledge of Scripture. How can we, as Christian women, keep our focus and sustain our passion when reading the Bible?

Easy, right? But all of us start with no experience - and this is our only shot. Join as we learn from; God’s Word, Christian family specialists, guest speakers, personal study, and each other, strategies for raising kids - in a world becoming more complex and less supportive of “training up a child in the way…”.
This class is for – current (or future) parents wanting to sharpen and share their parenting skills.

Epic Young Adults - “this changes everything”
This Changes Everything: Lessons from James - Member Book is a study for young adults by Ben Stuart that unpacks the book of James. The world desperately needs Christians whose actions match their convictions. A young generation is rising up, and they need to see the power of the gospel working its way out into our everyday lives. Enter James, the half-brother of Jesus. Be warned, everything is on the table. James will call us to evaluate the way we deal with hardship, handle money, use our words, and plan our futures. But if we will let him in, James's letter has the potential for our outside to match our inside, our activity to match our God-given identity.

EPIC STUDENTS: “he is here”
As Christians, sometimes we have mountain top experiences where God feels close and fellowship with Him is easy. Then there are times when we feel like we are wandering around in the desert and God is nowhere to be found. If you’ve ever felt like that, or feel that way now, you’re in good company. For forty years the Israelites wandered in the wilderness and many times they wondered, “Where is God?”
He is Here, by Ryan McDermott, is a Bible study designed to help you know what to do when (not if) you find yourself in the wilderness. Even if you don’t feel God, even if you seem to be in the wilderness, even if you’re confused, scared, and feel alone, He is here.

EPIC River Kids -
(3 years old & potty trained - 6th grade)
EPIC River Kids is a fun, high-energy ministry that encourages kids to know Jesus Christ and to grow in a relationship with Him. This semester we will take kids on a journey through the four Gospel books that tell us about who Jesus is and why He came. Kids will explore the themes and purposes of the Gospels and learn how each account of the same story seamlessly weaves different details together to share the good news of Jesus and the kingdom of God.
